Mike Awesome vs. Bam Bam Bigelow

Background: “That 70s Guy” Mike Awesome made his grand return on WCW “Thunder”, only to be attacked by Bam Bam Bigelow. Awesome paid him back for the unwarranted attack, leading to an Ambulance match where the loser would be determined by whomever was thrown into the ambulance stationed at the stage’s entrance.

Mike Awesome vs. Bam Bam Bigelow

Bigelow rushed Awesome, whipping him toward the turnbuckles. But Awesome’s incredible agility allowed him to turn the intended attack from his opponent into something for himself as he ran up the ropes and sprung off with a back elbow. The action spilled to the floor where Awesome utilized the ring bell to stop Bigelow’s assault. Bigelow eventually countered with a chair shot to the back of Awesome as they moved closer to the ambulance. The momentum swung back & forth as they moved toward the back doors of the ambulance. Bigelow slammed the door against Awesome’s head, only for “The 70s Guy” to low blow him with a mule kick. Bigelow threw a wild haymaker as Awesome lay against the back doors. Awesome moved at the last second, causing Bam Bam to punch through the glass pane. Bigelow, limping and continuously checking his slightly bleeding arm, went to grab the chair he left in the aisle as the fans started chanting, “Boring!”

The action, for some reason, reentered the ring where Bigelow executed a DDT. Once again, they ended up fighting at ringside where Awesome reversed an Irish whip to send Bigelow into the nearby steel ring steps. Awesome grabbed a table from underneath the ring, placing it by the ring before grabbing Bigelow. Awesome got a running start in hopes of knocking “The Beast From the East” through the table. Instead, Awesome was back body dropped through the table! Dragging Awesome to the ambulance, Bigelow slammed his opposition on the vehicle hood in preparation to bash him in the face with the warning lights. Awesome took the lights, bashing Bigelow in the face to knock Bam Bam through the ambulance roof to win.

Winner: Mike Awesome (8:32)

Is It A Classic: Well, that was shockingly mundane until the finale. Bigelow wasn’t the wrestler fans knew and loved anymore, struggling to make it through the match. Kind of disappointing looking at the parties involved.
