Rushing

“There is more to life than increasing its speed.” – Mohandas K. Gandhi

Life comes at you quick – there’s no denying that. With the stresses and rigors that come with just our daily routine comes a frenetic pace that disallows us from realizing that time, while always constant, moves at our pace. This rushing feeling doesn’t just appear when we start working or going to school, but is almost naturally instilled in us at birth. At the point we start understanding the advantages of age, we hope that time moves quickly so we can reach that desired era of adulthood. When we approach or surpass the age that looked so promising during our youth, we hope that time rushes in reverse to a simpler day when no worries or cares existed.

By rushing through life, we find no true satisfaction. No matter the age, we must stop ourselves and smell the preverbal roses – the simple or even complicate cares that time and our race against it just won’t let us enjoy. Time waits for no man and nor will it slow down or speed up to accommodate our hastened lives.
