“Win if you can. Lose if you must. But always cheat!” – Jesse Ventura
Jesse Ventura (you know, the Navy SEAL turned pro-wrestler turned politician turned conspiracy buster) is a man known for many things. If it’s not his time in the Navy, it’s his tenure as the governor of Minnesota for the Independent party. But in-between all of his accomplishments sits a time when Ventura was an announcer for the World Wrestling Federation after his in-ring career was cut short. And while announcing wrestling matches, Ventura dropped some pearls of wisdom; including the above quote.
According to the future governor, in a wrestling ring it didn’t matter if you had the goods or not, just do whatever it took. And if “whatever” meant an eye poke, a low blow, or some help from your manager/valet, do it! In life, you can accept winning and losing graciously – they are just ways of life. But never walk away from those moments questioning yourself about whether or not if you had a chance to change the outcome because you didn’t cheat. Cheat always and maybe you too can become the governor of your state.
