Nicole Matthews vs. Jessie McKay
1st Fall: Tempers flared early when Jessie shoved Nicole onto her butt off of the initial collar & elbow tie up. Seconds later, Matthews tested McKay’s power, bringing her to the mat. Sadly for the former SHIMMER Tag Team champion, Matthews lost her advantage, getting her arm barred and wrenched. Matthews calling Jessie a diva brought a loud groan from the crowd. Jessie played into the insult, doing her best Kelly Kelly imitation until she reminded Matthews that she could actually wrestle by outmaneuvering Nicole on the mat. Moments later, Nicole turned the tides, forearming Jessie in position for several pinning combinations that didn’t end the first fall. What did help Nicole win the first fall was a handful of tights off the O’Connor roll up.
2nd Fall: The fans protested alongside McKay about Matthews’ illegal action. Furious, McKay Thesz pressed Nicole not once, but twice. The presses were topped off by punches, making the referee come between the women. When Jessie came after Nicole for a third Thesz press, Nicole executed a stun gun to drive the wind out of McKay. Matthews was running this match, chopping the life out of Jessie between choke attacks. At the ten-minute mark, Jessie McKay ran into a knee to the abdomen when she tried to rally back following a successful neck breaker. Matthews questioned McKay’s fortitude, almost getting pinned when someone garnered Nicole’s attention in the crowd. Once again, the fans got loud in support of McKay, but Nicole stopped Jessie before she could get anything started with a dropkick in the corner. Turning an Irish whip against Nicole, Jessie caught her opponent with two kicks. Nicole had a kick of her own that set up the springboard cross body that connected unlike their last encounter … for a near fall!
Both women got up throwing forearms. The forearm exchange allowed Jessie to drop Nicole after three School Girl Crushes to take the second fall.
3rd Fall: McKay was on fire, almost pinning Nicole off of the side face plant. Nicole elbowed her way out of the Boyfriend Stealer, executing that pumphandle gut-buster. Instead of going for the pin, Nicole waited for McKay to get up so she could almost take Jessie’s head off with a lariat … for a two count!
The northern lights suplex didn’t end this one in Nicole’s favor, either. Doing her best to block the German suplex saw Jessie get caught in a single leg deathlock. Great strength and tenacity shown by Jessie as she dragged herself to the ropes with all of Nicole’s weight on top of her. Nicole had a look of disbelief on her face before screaming in anger. This moment of anger allowed Jessie to recover and avoid the incoming Matthews by sliding through the ropes. Nicole took a kick to the head, but paid Jessie back with a clothesline that dropped Jessie onto the apron. Rather than let Jessie be counted out, Nicole followed McKay to the floor so she could suplex McKay against the parquet floor before rolling Jessie into the aisle. Reentering the ring, Nicole knew she had a sure victory. At nine and seven-eighths, McKay made it back into the ring to the delight of the fans and to the disgust of Matthews.
Jessie rallied to her feet, but almost got rolled up again thanks to a handful of tights. This time, the referee saw Nicole’s illegal action, stopping the pin and allowing Jessie to unleash the northern lights bomb to gain another near fall. Jessie called for the end after placing Nicole on the top rope. Superplex by Jessie almost ended with both women getting pinned. When they staggered to their feet, Jessie ran into Nicole’s brain buster. One Vancouver Maneuver later, and Nicole finally proved her superiority over Jessie McKay by pinning her once again.
Winner: Nicole Matthews (21:54)
Is It A Classic: Nicole Matthews and Jessie McKay went out there and delivered once again. For over twenty minutes, these women proved why they are considered two of the best anywhere in an excellent encounter.
