Background: The future “Million Dollar Man” and one of Mid-South Wrestling’s biggest stars Ted DiBiase was looking to rough up some wrestlers who thought they could make a name off of his own. Another future wrestling legend in Shawn Michaels stepped up to the figurative plate.

Ted DiBiase vs. Shawn Michaels
Stern collar & elbow tie up saw DiBiase easily muscle the smaller Michaels around before Shawn tried to outmaneuver the main event star. Sadly for Michaels, he ran into a hip toss-body slam combination that left him grounded and in position for a rear chin lock. Inching toward the ropes, Michaels threw his legs up and kicked forward to put Ted in a pinning predicament! DiBiase kicked out, only to be yanked into a small package for another close two count! The sunset flip worked, but didn’t result in a three count for Michaels. Furious, DiBiase beat the tar out of Shawn before he could follow up with another pinning combination. The hooking clothesline was a set up for DiBiase’s power slam. Rather than taking the simple pin, the crown jewel of “The Rat Pack” faction hooked Michaels in the figure four leg lock for a submission victory.
Winner: Ted DiBiase (3:20)
Is It A Classic: It isn’t some technical masterpiece as you’d expect when you say the names “Shawn Michaels” and “Ted DiBiase” today, but it was a different day and age as Shawn wasn’t the “Showstopper” and DiBiase was the man. The match did make Michaels look like a potential world-beater before the inevitable end.
