Kenny King vs. Zema Ion vs. Rubix vs. Mason Andrews

Out of all the men competing here, Rubix (CHIKARA wrestling’s Jigsaw) was the only man to have not been involved in an Ultimate X match.

At the sound of the bell, Andrews and Rubix had to stop Ion and King’s attempt to climb the steel trusses. The partnership didn’t last long thanks to Andrews. Rubix knocked Mason down, only to be kicked in the face by King. Big clothesline from Ion downed King. Ion and Andrews took their fight to the floor as King used a slingshot leg drop on Rubix. King knocked Rubix to the floor, only for the masked man to send him into the steel guardrails. Rubix was the only man standing after Andrews and Zema Ion collided with cross body blocks. Slingshot leg drop by Rubix on Mason Andrews had Taz asking for Rubix to cover the man in a match where pins don’t matter.

As Rubix tried to stop Andrews’ ascent, King went for the giant, red X hanging above the ring. Rubix and Andrews stopped King, dropping him with an inverted atomic drop. All four men eventually ended up fighting in the same corner, with Andrews taking down King before Rubix kicked Ion. Rubix looked down to find Ion coming after him when the masked man started making his way across the cables. Letting go, Rubix used a beautiful hurricarana to down Zema. Before Rubix could take advantage of the situation he created for himself, King took him to the floor for a spinning plancha.

Andrews found himself alone in the ring, but opted to dive on King on the floor. Ion followed suit, hitting a corkscrew moonsault on King and Andrews. Rubix scaled the truss, using a big cross body to take down all of his opponents before going for the X. King was there to stop Rubix with the Royal Flush. The fans were behind King, only for Ion and Mason to take King and the crowd out of the bout for a few moments. All four men were down following a series of big maneuvers. Rubix and Andrews started working together again, ending with Mason being yanked and German suplexed from the cables by Rubix.

Ion finally went after the X, only for King and Rubix to stop him temporarily. But Andrews really took down Ion by shoving him off the top rope, into one of the trusses. Andrews started shimmying to the X, only for Ion to meet him. Downward spiral from Mason sent himself and Ion into the mat. Rubix replaced Ion and Andrews, retrieving the X. But Rubix hadn’t touched the mat when King slipped underneath him and yanked the X out of his hands before electric chair dropping Rubix. When the bodies hit the canvas, King held the X up to show he was the true winner.

Winner: Kenny King (15:27)

Is It A Classic: While nowhere near the classic Ultimate X matches of the past, it was a very good showcase for everyone; especially Rubix who TNA definitely missed the boat on.
